This is the sixth I
have obtained a washing machines. Somehow they breakdown , and they cannot be fixed,
like other things in my life, my Air condition, I don’t know how many times
they broke down. Last night, an Egyptian
specialist came to my house, after I called him several times, form 6 PM until he made it
at 9 PM . As soon as he entered the
house , he said;
“ just inspection will cost you 5KD:
. I said , “I am not asking you to inspect my machine, I
want you to fix it.”
“I came here to fix it” he said
“Good, is this your child”
“yes”
“do you go to school” I said to the child
“yes he does” his dad answered
I didn’t say anything, but I felt sorry for the child
He turned my machine upside down, and then he said;
“ it will cost you 50
KD , five zero (almost $170 to be fixed”
I couldn’t believe what
I was hearing . I said to him “no, just put it back as it was”.
“No, problem, it cost you KD five”
For putting things back from what you pull out from for the machines ” I said
“No, it is for the inspection” he said
“I didn’t say I want you to inspect the machine , I said fix
it, and I have made it clear to you “
I can , but your refused,
“I didn’t”
“ Well I have to take
it with me to the workshop, and it will cost you only the parts KD 50”
“I am not going to give you anything”
“Then I fixed your machine for free”
“You have not fixed my machine for free, as a matter of fact
you have wasted my time waiting for your arrival, and didn’t fix it, beside, is
this the reason why you bring your child with you to teach him that”….
I didn’t clarify my position, but he got it. He brought his child
with him to show him the latest art of deception, and tricks. Lies, deceptions thefts are regard as the manful
tools for the survival, but I am from the
old school, my father school who worked hard day and night to feed us when
Kuwait had no money and poor nation. My father’s time , Kuwait was morally
rich, and financially bankrupt, no Kuwait is financially rich, but morally
bankrupt.
