| Dear Robert ,
We've got to know many of you quite well over the past few months, and have been moved by your stories and circumstances.
There's Michael White, who lives surrounded by ocean on a remote atoll in the Cook Islands. Dentist Emile Roger Mayabou joined this campaign from Brazzaville, Congo simply because he cares about the world. Andrew Harvey, a dad living in Kuala Lumpur, fears the impact of its air pollution on his kids. Suzanne Scollon, a linguist, got cancer and lost her husband to cancer after working downstream from the Alberta Tar Sands.
These are just a few of the 210,000 of you who signed on to advocate for a cleaner and safer earth. You can meet more of the people behind that number in this interactive. Take a browse, and add yourself through GuardianWitness – we'll be updating the map with your stories for weeks to come.
Also, if you missed it, here are two great pieces that published this weekend:Oil company bosses' bonuses linked to $1tn spending on extracting fossil fuelsand Dust, TB and HIV: the ugly face of mining in South Africa.
Thanks for your time, and please continue to keep in touch.
Best regards, Lilah Raptopoulos | |
