Why do I call Ayatollah bastard?

I was watching  a program in the CNN about the events that  were taken 35 years Ago in Iran. I was then living in USA as a foreigner . I rejoiced when I heard Ayatollah Khomeini removed the Shah of Iran from power. I carried his name, his picture, his flag  in the street of USA.  When I got tired of kissing Ayatollah Khomeini’s ass , I asked myself after  years later , can I go to the street of Tehran and raise the American's flag, and Ronald Reagan’s picture?.
